Working Mother is proud to announce its second Best of Congress award. In partnership with Corporate Voices for Working Families, an organization devoted to improving the lives of working families, Working Mother invites all members of Congress to apply for this biannual initiative. The initiative recognizes U.S. Senators and U.S. Representatives who have demonstrated leadership in improving the quality of life for working families by partnering with business and other stakeholders to create long-term solutions to work-life issues.
Applicants will be judged on their voting records and demonstrated efforts to support working families through long-term, practical solutions. A bipartisan Best of Congress Steering Committee (see below) developed the award criteria, which focuses on lawmakers’ efforts to advance economically sound policies that support and create opportunities for working families. This year, our questionnaire gives particular attention to efforts that support such critical issues as workplace flexibility, family economic stability, workforce readiness and work and family balance.
WHO CAN APPLY?
All members of Congress.
Please be sure that only one contact per congress member registers for this questionnaire. Only one questionnaire will be considered for each applicant.
The completed questionnaire is due January 15, 2010.
